  1. DFG (Digital Function Generator) Software 3.2 for NeXTSTEP Computers

  4. DFG (Digital Function Generator) Software 3.2 is a powerful tool for
  5. generation of arbitrary sounds and has many applications in the fields
  6. of acoustics, audio, music, psychoacoustics, physics, architecture,
  7. film, audiology, electronics, electroacoustics, mechanics, vibration
  8. measurements and transducer testing.
  9.  
  10. Since DFG does not use DSP resources (Motorola 56001 chip) and since
  11. it uses only 2 -> 3% of the CPU time, it can run simultaneously with
  12. such applications as the Digital Oscilloscope and Spectrum Analyzer
  13. (both applications are available on NeXT). Therefore, a single NeXT
  14. computer can be used to perform sophisticated tests and experiments,
  15. since it can synthesize and analyze signals at the same time.

  17. DFG_demo.app Version 3.2 is working on all Motorola and Intel - based
  18. NeXTSTEP computers with NeXTSTEP versions 2.* => 3.* . Soon DFG will
  19. be available also for Sun and HP computers running NeXTSTEP. Intel -
  20. based computers require NeXTSTEP - supported 16 bit D/A convertors to
  21. use DFG software.
